World Vision: Grand Prix Winner ‘A Hero’ by Asghar Farhadi at 8 Duhok IFF

Reflecting on contemporary Iranian society, writer-director Asghar Farhadi unleashes with Ghahreman (A Hero) his return to psychological thriller. The hero is Rahim, who is in prison because of a debt he was unable to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint against the payment of part of the sum. But things don’t go as planned.
A Hero is the fourth film in competition by Asghar Farhadi at the Cannes Film Festival and won the Grand Prix in 2021. A Hero is part of the 8th DuhokIFF World Vision Program.
