Kurdish-German director Hüseyin Tabak: Jury President of Kurdish Cinema

We are thrilled to announce that celebrated kurdish-german director, writer and producer Hüseyin Tabak will be the Jury President of Kurdish Cinema at this years’ DuhokIFF!! We are excited to have this multi-talented filmmaker with us. Hüseyin Tabak has crafted an impressive filmography over the past decade. He first started his film career studying in Vienna, Austria where he was a student of acclaimed filmmaker Michael Hanneke. He later worked as a Netflix broadcaster. His debut film “Beauty is Worthless” won the Austrian film prize in four categories, one of them being best film and best direction. His latest film “Oskars’ Dress”, produced by Warner Bros. is currently in post-production. His third movie «Gipsy Queen» was awarded at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, was then shown in cinemas in 2019 and has secured a Netflix deal earlier this year.
