Duhok 4th International Film Festival is proud to premiere Keywan Karimi’s first feature film ‘Drum’ in the Kurdish Cinema Competition.

The film will be screened at Duhok IFF after its among the feature films in competition at the International Film Critics' Week (SIC) running August 31 to September 10 in Venice 73rd Film Festival.

Karimi (1985), is a Kurdish Iranian filmmaker. His films where presented in numerous international film festivals. After his documentary ‘Writing on the City’ (2015), Karimi was arrested with the accusation of insulting Islamic sacredness and propagating against the regime, and was sentence to 1 year of imprisonment, 223 lashes and a fine of 20 million Rials. 'Drum', shot secretly in Teheran by Keywan Karimi who is unable to be in Duhok, since his passport is being held by Iranian authorities.
