The submitting committee of Duhok International Film Festival is delighted to announce the Iraqi submission for the 11th Asia Pacific Screen Awards. Atia Aldaraji’s “PATH OF MARYAM” for Feature Films category and Hakar Abdulqader’s “SEPARATION” for Documentary Films category were chosen among tens of premieres and will represent Iraq for this year’s awards in competition with 150 other films from more than seventy Asian countries.

 

The APSA is selecting a number of films from the entries and will come up with its own shortlisted films; the final nominations will be announced late October, 2017. As Brsibane city in Australia will be hosting Awards ceremony in November 2017.

 

In 2015, Duhok International Film Festival became the representative of Iraq to APSA and a member of the mentioned Organization, this membership was established when Anne Démy-Geroe the member of the Nominations Council for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and a board member of NETPAC Awards announced in a press conference in the 3rd Duhok IFF, the joining of the later to APSA family.
