As president of the Cannes Film Festival, Gilles Jacob conceived and directed this documentary. Using archive material and official footage, Jacob follows 34 renown directors in their special day during the 60th anniversary of the festival, capturing a wealth of remarkable and unexpected images and sketching a unique behind-the-scenes portrait of this group of influential international filmmakers and exceptional artists.
Born in 1930 in France. Jacob is a critic, essayist and director. He has been working with the film festival in Cannes since 1968 and became its president in 2001. He has significantly contributed to giving distinctions to the directions of European auteur cinema.
