Soran is a Kurdish refugee from Iran, and Fulvia is a Franco-Italian filmmaker who meets this rather gifted young man in a region of Kurdistan. When Soran tells her that he wants to make his way to the UK, she finds him a camera. Thus he begins a nine months journey from Erbil to Liverpool, recording everything on his way. The journey is full of obstacles, and each time Soran finds himself in a tight spot, Fulvia comes to rescue him.
Alberti works as writer, photographer, journalist and film director. Since 1991, she has been working in Iraq and Kurdistan, where she created the Ateliers Doku, in order to teach young directors.
