Lea, 19 years old, wants to meet her father. When she calls him for the first time he tries to get rid of her, he has different problems to solve. Nevertheless, she does not give up and smuggles herself into his life and starts working in his little Trattoria restaurant. But what does this world between pizza, pasta and shady money businesses really mean to him...and finally also to her?
Soleen Yusef was born in Duhok / Iraq in 1987. At the age of nine she fled together with her parents to Germany because of political reasons. She graduated from high school in Berlin in 2005. After graduation she attended the Academy of Stage Arts and was trained as singer and actress. Moreover she worked as a production assistant and 1st AD for the production company Mîtosfilm. Since 2008 she has been studying feature film directing at the Baden-Wurttemberg Film Academy. Her film NOS [Cheers To You] has been screened at several national and international film festivals including the renowned Dubai International Film Festival. Early 2011 she won the Caligari Development Award 2011 for the film TRATTORIA which is a co-production between Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and the German TV-networks BR, SWR and Arte. Right now she develops her first feature film, which will be shot in Kurdistan by early 2013.
